INNOVATIVE TOOLS FOR PERSONALIZED MEDICINE

The integrated use of data from heterogeneous sources is applied by the Department to analyse the pathological process seen as a continuum from the pre-clinical risk phase to the disease and its outcomes in order to reach a more characterised prognosis. With this objective the Department develops new methodologies for the standardisation, management and crossed analysis of variables that range from the administrative data of standard healthcare flows, to clinical data extracted from the patient’s medical history or from imaging and other analysis. In this field the Department avail itself of the close collaboration with Fondazione Gabriele Monasterio and the University of Pisa as well as with international public organisations and private business.

The overall objective of the project is to integrate different sources of healthcare data necessary to define incremental risk levels and, at the same time, to identify personal and clinic features that can objectively characterize patterns of morbidity and co-morbidity with the aim to facilitate an integrated and dynamic understanding of the subject conditions over time.
